How to use it properly, depending on your child's age

Official sleep recommendations are clear: a baby's bed must stay empty while they sleep, with no bed bumper, pillow or soft object. The Assurance maladie (the French national health insurance) states that "a bed bumper is not recommended."

• Before 12 months: use the braid as daytime decoration and remove it before every sleep, naps included.
• When your child starts to pull up to stand: remove it from the crib, as it could be used as a step.
• After that: it frames a toddler bed or a Montessori-style floor bed, or decorates a sofa.
