Collection: Bed Canopy

An airy veil above the bed, and the room takes on a whole new atmosphere: the bed canopy creates a cocoon that softens the light and invites calm. Terracotta, powder pink, beige or white: soft shades to match the rest of the room.

The bed canopy, a cocoon above sleep

Few elements transform a bedroom as quickly as a bed canopy. Its sheer fabric softens the light, visually marks off the sleeping nook and gives the room that cozy nest feel that makes beautiful children's rooms so charming.

How do you install it?

Two options: ceiling mounting, with a hook securely screwed in above the bed, or an arched wall bracket that holds the drape out from the wall. In both cases, check that the anchor is solid and keep the fabric out of baby's reach: the drape should remain decorative, never accessible from a young child's bed. On a floor bed or a reading nook for an older child, it falls all the way to the floor instead to create a little hideaway.

Choosing your shade

White and beige give off a soft light and suit any decor. Terracotta and dusty pink warm up a bright room and go well with boho styles. Paired with a bed braid in the same tones, the bed canopy creates a cohesive sleeping nook, which a night light makes utterly irresistible at bedtime.

Bed canopy or mosquito net?

The two look alike, but they are used differently. A mosquito net protects against insects with a tight, enveloping mesh; a bed canopy is all about decor, with an airy drape that filters the light. In summer, a bed canopy in fine voile can do both jobs at once, provided you never completely seal off a baby's sleeping space.

Caring for a sheer drape

A machine wash at 30 degrees on a delicate cycle, then hang drying on a hanger, and the drape regains its lightness, with little to no ironing. Regular dusting is enough between washes. To work it into a decor planned from A to Z, our guide how to decorate a child's room lays out the complete method.
