Blue and Gray bed braid: a touch of softness in the bedroom

Our blue and Gray bed braid adds texture and dimension to a child's bedroom. Braided from soft velvet and padded with cotton, it dresses a bed, marks off a reading nook or highlights a headboard.

Its benefits

  • A soft, warm decorative touch.
  • Easy to install and to move around as you like.
  • Available in several lengths: 1m, 2m, 3m, 4m.
  • An item that grows with your child: toddler bed, floor bed, sofa, headboard.

Using it properly, depending on your child's age

Official sleep recommendations are clear: a baby's bed must stay empty while they sleep, with no bumper, pillow or soft object. The Assurance maladie (the French national health insurance) states that "a crib bumper is not recommended."

  • Before 12 months: use the braid as a daytime decoration and remove it before every sleep, naps included.
  • When your child starts to pull up to stand: remove it from the crib, as it could serve as a step stool.
  • Afterwards: it lines the edge of a toddler bed or a Montessori-style floor bed, or decorates a sofa.

Materials

Velvet that is soft to the touch, cotton padding. Dust with a vacuum cleaner on low power, and spot clean with a damp cloth.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can the braid be left in the bed while the baby sleeps? Not before 12 months: sleep recommendations rule out any bumper and any soft object in an infant's bed. Set it up during the day for decoration, and remove it at bedtime.
  • What is a bed braid used for? To decorate the bedroom, to mark off a space and, later on, to line the edge of a toddler bed or a floor bed.
  • When should it be removed from the crib? As soon as your child pulls up to stand, so that they don't use it to climb.
